State of Our Healthcare System
Our healthcare system is broken. There needs to be a paradigm shift from treating symptoms with medications ("Band-Aid medicine") to finding the root cause of a problem and bringing the body back into balance.
The U.S. ranks 27th worldwide in health care outcomes, down from being 6th in 1990. And yet, we spend more on health care than any country in the world by far. The U.S. obesity rate is 40% — the highest ever — and childhood obesity is 20%.
Chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, arthritis, and diabetes affect 45% of the U.S. population: 133 million Americans.
